Three years ago, we embarked on a journey to expand our Guest House into something more than just accommodation. We introduced our rustic and relaxed events venue to host events for families to enjoy, provide a space for private hire and recently embark on a journey to provide couples a special space to enjoy their wedding celebrations.
Our story wouldn’t be complete without mentioning the heart and soul of our establishment—our Nana. At a remarkable age of 92, she continued to be the driving force behind our antiques centre. She was not just our matriarch; she was our endless wellspring of inspiration. Sadly gone but never forgotten.

Nestled in the heart of Essex, Battlesbridge is a unique and beautiful village, a hidden gem surrounded by the allure of antiques. The village gracefully straddles the tidal River Crouch, just 14 km (9 miles) south-southeast of Chelmsford. Exploring the village is a treat, with scenic access routes along the tranquil River Crouch.
The historic bridge over the River Crouch, lovingly maintained by the Bataille family throughout the ages, lends its name to the hamlet. Today, it’s home to several antiques centres, one of which was once a thriving mill.
Battlesbridge has evolved into a beloved tourist destination, offering a wealth of sights to explore, an abundance of dining and drinking establishments, and countless opportunities to create cherished moments with loved ones.
